From fear to freedom (and big news to share 🌿)

The night before flying out to Santa Fe, I pulled a Tarot card:
The Devil.
It’s funny how we hear “devil” and instantly think bad. But over the past year of working with Tarot, I’ve learned these archetypes are a lot fuller than our preconceived notions. The Devil often shows up as something to overcome, like fear, limiting beliefs, or that mean-girl soundtrack in your head.
For me, it was all of the above. I’ve had anxiety about leaving home since before I even made it out of the womb. Pulling this card reminded me:I can notice fear without letting it run the show. With that intention, I hopped on a plane and had one of my favorite adventures yet:
✨ 3 days camping & rafting the Rio Chama with incredible women celebrating Preston Slaughter. These women taught me to loosen my grip, be braver, have more fun, and trust myself.
✨ Soaking in the healing waters at Ojo Caliente, one of the world’s oldest spas. An outdoor adventure that ends with a spa is my new favorite thing.
✨ I needed to spend some extra time to soak in the art and pottery of Santa Fe, so my mom met me out there to explore. Santa Fe left me so inspired and has me dreaming about coming back, and maybe even bringing you with me next time…?!
This trip cracked me open to be freer, more courageous, and not let fear hold me back. And now I can't wait to share this magic with you in RVA!
I haven’t taught a weekly studio class since March 2020—the Friday before the world shut down.
I've used this time to intentionally step back, recover from burnout, and focus on private and corporate clients. Now, it feels so right to step back into teaching in community!!
Starting this Thursday 8/7, I’ll be holding space every Thursday, 7 AM at The Yoga Dojo—the same room where I taught years ago (the old Project Yoga Richmond building for my PYR peeps). While it's the same physical location, the space has completely transformed—as have I. This studio has been a yoga home for me through so many chapters, a place of love, community, and deepening practice, and I cannot wait to share it with you. Let’s make some morning magic together!
The latest episode of How the Wise One Grows includes a VERY special announcement. This one feels big, tender, and exciting—I’d really love for you to listen and be part of this moment with me.
I started How the Wise One Grows alone in a closet back in 2022, feeling lost but just brave enough to begin. I’ll forever love that version of me—the one who stepped into her voice despite doubt.
Since then, over 120 conversations on the pod have changed me. I’m braver, bolder, more compassionate and creative because of you. Now, it’s time to enter a new season.
How the Wise One Grows is going into a creative cocoon, and Kelly Eberle (one of the most hilarious humans ever) is coming in with me as co-host.
We’re taking time to dream and rebuild so we can create in a way that feels joyful and sustainable. We’ll be back in 2026 with sooo much goodness that we cannot wait to share with you!!
🎧 Listen to the full episode here to hear how the podcast is evolving and explore your own creative identity—what it is, what might be holding it back, and how to set it free. This one’s a conversation for all of us growing into the next version of our creativity.
Traveling make me even more excited for the retreat Preston and I are leading,November 9-14 in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. These kinds of experiences—new places, slowing down, being in community—they stretch and transform us. I know this retreat will do the same.
If you’re feeling the pull but also some pre-travel jitters (I know that feeling well!), email me. We can talk it through and see if it’s right for you.
And if you’re a HELL YES: grab your spot and invite your besties to take advantage of our Buddy + Trio deals!
✨ Red Room Group Deal! Coming with friends or open to sharing? Book as a group of 3 and each of you saves $200—just $1,780 per person for all the retreat magic. 🌿
This summer, my sunroom has fully transformed into a pottery studio, and I’m obsessed. I’ve fallen in love with handbuilding and I'm creating more than ever! One of the biggest tips for my creative practice this summer has been having a "max" and "min" of studio time each day(thanks Aime Mcnee!) My "min" started as no less than ten minutes making, and my "max" was no more than one plate. I let these max and mins are evolve as needed, but these parameters make it so much more accessible to get in the studio every day.
I just finished up this "wonky woman" inspired by the Rio Chama landscape and soulful lessons learned. We love her!! I even packed some travel paints with me on my adventures so I could create while traveling.
I’m also fixing up my first lil test kiln, hoping to get her running soon! (& I am still ready to graciously receive a Skutt KMT 1027 😘), which means even more creative magic ahead!
In May, I began my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at William & Mary. I’m only a couple of months in, taking one class at a time, and absolutely loving it.
My current course dives into counseling theories, I'm extra excited learning about Jungian and Behavioral approaches right now 🤓 I can already feel how this is shaping my art and my work with others. I’m so grateful to be on this path.
This fall, I’m opening up spots for mindfulness mentorship, private yoga sessions, and creative wellness coaching. I’m also continuing to bring corporate wellness programs & workshops to teams ready to reconnect, replenish, and create together.
If you’re feeling called to work together in either way, send me an email!
"Dance like a child" In a dream, on the night she had an emergency surgery, my grandmother told me that February was going to be one of the hardest months, and the way through was to “dance like a child.” She was right, and I took her advice very literally. This playlist has been my go-to: give it a listen & bust a move! Reply back with any bangers I should add to the playlist! This winter has been a season full of so much joy, so much grief, so much growth — the loss of my grandmother, the...
How do you fill your cup? I just turned 33-- and the words that keep coming to mind: "I like who and how I am becoming". I entered a creative cocoon this past weekend at an artist retreat with inspiring women. We spent our days diving into our creative pursuits, embracing the magic of nature, sharing our talents, and nourishing each other through cooking, laughter, and dance. Going into this portal, I felt depleted. Life and the world continue to require more and more of all of us. Despite...
Remember in high school when you had a CD of all your favorite songs playing in the car 24/7? I deeply remember the songs from that time in my life, the ones that got me through. So I decided to make a 2025 playlist of the songs that carried me through the highs and lows of this year. It has been a wild ride, and I truly believe music heals. So… enjoy this playlist as you read along.😘 Break or Bloom? It's up to you. Feeling empowered after guiding an ATV waterfall hike during Waves of...
